IMPORTANT RACE DAY TIMINGS

  • Gates G-5 and G-6 will be open from 6.30 a.m. to 7.55 a.m. (runners reaching these gates after 7.55 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Event)
  • Line-up gate will be open from 7.55 a.m. to 8.00 a.m.
  • Open 10K Run start time: 8.00 a.m.

EVENT VENUE

All Open 10K runners are required to assemble at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium from 6:30 a.m. onwards on Sunday, 5th June 2011.

Runners are required to enter the Stadium premises only through East Gates - Gate 'A' and Gate 'B' on Vithal Mallya Road, opp. St. Joseph School, and South Gate of Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road. Please follow the map given here. No other gates will be open for entry inside the stadium.

The holding area for runners of Open 10K is on the stands of the stadium through gate nos. G-5 and G-6. Runners reaching the Open 10K Run holding area later than 7.55 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Event.

Parking: Parking space is available at the UB City parking lot for Open 10K runners. Parking stickers will be available at the Expo at a cost of 30 per car and 15 per 2-wheeler, on first come first serve basis. You will need to show your running number to our volunteer at the parking counter to collect a sticker. Adequate signages would be placed to guide you to parking area as well as the stadium and back.

Baggage Storage: Baggage storage space will be provided within the holding area. You will be entitled to store ONLY ONE BAG. You will be given a baggage tag that is to be attached to your bag and the other half has to be retained by you to be submitted at the time of collection of the bag. This will facilitate easy bag retrieval at the end of the race. You must collect your baggage from the holding area before 10.30 a.m. on Race Day. It is strongly recommended that you do not leave valuables like mobile phone, camera, jewellery, watch, electronic gadgets, etc. in the bag stored. The organizers are not responsible for any loss, theft or misplacement of your bag or contents stored therein.

Assemble in Sree Kanteerava Stadium and start from inside the Stadium on the athletic track - Exit the Stadium and turn right towards Kasturba Road - Turn right on Kasturba Road - Go straight on Kasturba Road, towards Chinnaswamy Stadium - Turn Left on Queens Road upto Minsk Square - Turn Right on Cubbon Road - Turn right from BRV Jn towards Anil Kumble Jn. - Take U-Turn from Anil Kumble Jn. - Turn right on Cubbon Road - Turn right on Kamraj Road towards M. G. Road - Take U-Turn before M.G. Facilities on the Open 10K Run Route
  • Water: Bottled Kingfisher Premium Packaged drinking water available at drink stations along the course. Each drink station will be clearly marked. For the benefit of your fellow runners and general hygiene, we urge you dispose off/throw bottles towards the pavement or in dustbins provided along the route. Our volunteers will be able to clear the place easier and faster.
  • Sports Drinks: Sports drink, courtesy Lucozade Sport, will be at sports drink stations. Each station will be clearly marked.
  • Kilometer Marks: Every kilometre.
  • Time: Digital clocks on Start & Finish Gate and on the Lead Vehicle.
  • Medical Aid: Medical stations along the course manned by doctors and medical personnel of Fortis Hospital. Runners are advised to carry their own specific prescribed medicines. You must stop running the race immediately if instructed to do so by a member of the official medical staff - this is in the interest of your health and safety.
  • Toilets: Mobile toilets will be stationed next to the Fortis Medical Stations along the course.

YOUR FINISH

Finish line is inside the Sree Kanteerava Stadium premises, outside the athletic stadium. As you cross the Finish Line, do not obscure your running number bib with your arms, the race officials and photographers will find it difficult to identify you. Once you cross the Finish Line, turn right towards the Refreshment Counters. Participants can then collect their refreshment packets and come back to their holding area using the South gate or the East gate.

The Finish is a secure area with no public access. You should arrange to meet your supporters only outside the stadium or on the stadium stands.

AFTER THE RACE

  • Medals: You will receive your Finisher Medal at the Medal Distribution Counter after the finish line. Please note, medals will not be posted to individual athletes.
  • Refreshments: You will receive your refreshments at the Refreshment Counters. For the benefit of your fellow runners and general hygiene, we urge you dispose off/throw peels and packaging in dustbins provided in the resting area. Our volunteers will be able to clear the place easier and faster.
  • Participation Certificates: Certificates recording runner's race timings will be issued 15 days after race day. The certificates will display the following timing details - net finish time, net timings and ranking as per net finish time.
    * rankings will appear on certificates of only those World 10K athletes whose chip timing has been reflected across all timing mats on the World 10K course, including start and finish mats and who have crossed the finish line by the following timings - Elite Men by 7.45 a.m. and Elite Women by 8.40 a.m.
  • Age Group Results: The first 3 winners (men and women) falling under the following age groups will be announced on the event website within 72 hours of the race -
    Age group: 15 years to 39 years Age group: 60 years to 69 years
    Age group: 40 years to 49 years Age group: 70 years and above
    Age group: 50 years to 59 years  
  • Race Day Photos: Marathon-Photos.com is the official photographer of the TCS World 10K Bangalore. Your photographs will be captured at several locations on race route and at the finish. Photographs will be available to view and purchase on the event website post 72 hours after the race.

In case of medical emergencies on race day, the following hospitals are located near the Event route: Vithal Mallya Hospital (Vithal Mallya Road) and Fortis Hospital (Cunningham Road). The Event's official Medical Partner, Fortis Hospital is situated at its Cunningham Road hospital.

EVENT VENUE

All World 10K athletes are required to assemble at the Elite Athlete Holding area near the Skating ring within Sree Kanteerava Stadium from 6:00 a.m. on Sunday, 5th June 2011.

Athletes are required to enter the stadium premises through the South Gate on Raja Ram Mohan Roy Road. Please follow the map given below for directions. No other gates will be open for entry inside the stadium.

Athletes will be lined up 10 minutes before the start of the respective races. Athletes reaching the Stadium after 6.45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the event.

Parking: Parking space is available at the UB City parking lots near the event venue for World 10K athletes. Car parking stickers can be collected from the Expo along with the running number bib. Adequate signages would be placed to guide you to parking area as well as the stadium and back.

RACE TIME LIMIT

The time limit for completion of the World 10K for men is 35 minutes & for women is 45 minutes from respective start times. Elite men runners will not be allowed to enter the stadium to finish their race after 7:45 a.m. Women runners will not be allowed to enter the stadium to finish their race after 8:40 a.m. Slow runners will be disqualified from the race.

YOUR FINISH

Finish line is on the athletic track inside the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. As you cross the Finish Line, do not obscure your running number bib with your arms, the race officials and photographers will find it difficult to identify you. Once you cross the Finish Line, keep moving ahead towards your holding area. Refreshments will be provided at this holding area.

Reporting Process:

Runners reaching the Corporate Challenge holding area later than 7.40 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Event. At the gate's entrance, you need to produce your photo identity proof to our volunteers. Please note, no substitution of runners will be allowed – this will lead to the entire team being disqualified. Further, where a team member does not report on race day, the team will not be allowed to participate as a Corporate Challenge team. The balance members of the respective team can participate in the Event, however as part of the Open 10K Run.

Free parking is available for bicycle riders opp. Karnataka Olympic Association office, inside Kanteerava Stadium. Entrance for bicycle parking is through the DYSS Gate at the Siddhalinga Junction, opp. Coffee Day Square. Participants must retrieve their bicycles before 11 a.m. on Sunday, 5th June 2011.

TIME LIMIT

The time limit for completion of the Corporate Challenge is 10 a.m. If you are still determined to reach the Finish, please keep to the footpath and stay off the road and then move towards the finish line. The event crew will be stationed at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium till 11 a.m. on Sunday, 5th June 2011 to welcome you after your run.

Teams finishing their run post 10 a.m. will not be entitled to finish timings, nor will be in the running for prize money winning positions.

YOUR FINISH

In case of medical emergencies on race day, the following hospitals are located near the Event route: Mallya Hospital (Vittal Mallya Road) and Fortis Hospital (Cunningham Road). The Event's official Medical Partner, Fortis Hospital is situated at its Cunningham Road hospital.

IMPORTANT RACE DAY TIMINGS

  • Gates G-10 and G-11 will be open from 7.00 a.m. to 8.45 a.m. (runners reaching these gates after 8.45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Event)
  • Line-up gate will be open from 8.50 a.m. to 8.58 a.m.
  • Majja Run start time: 9.00 a.m.

EVENT VENUE

All Open 10K runners are required to assemble at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium from 7 a.m. onwards on Sunday, 5th June 2011.

Runners are required to enter the Stadium premises only through East Gates – Gate 'A' and Gate 'B' on Vithal Mallya Road, opp. St. Joseph School. Please follow the map given here. No other gates will be open for entry inside the stadium.

The holding area for runners of Majja Run is on the stands of the stadium through gate nos. G-10 and G-11. Runners reaching the Majja Run holding area later than 8.45 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the Event.

Facilities available within the Stadium premises and the Finish Line:
  • Public toilet
  • Refreshment counters
  • Water counters
  • Medical base camp

Parking:If coming for the race on their own, the Senior Citizens' Run participants may park their vehicles at the UB City. Parking stickers will be available at the Expo at a cost of 30 per car and 15 per 2-wheeler, on first come first serve basis. You will need to show your running number to our volunteer at the parking counter to collect a sticker. Adequate signages would be placed to guide you to parking area as well as the stadium and back.

MAJJA RUN ROUTE

Assemble in Kanteerava Stadium and Start from inside Kanteerava Stadium – Go out of the Stadium and T/R on Kasturba Road – Go straight on Kasturba Road towards Queens Statue Jn. – Move straight on M.G. Road towards Anil Kumble Jn – T/L from Anil Kumble Junction towards BRV Junction & Cubbon Road – Take U-Turn from BRV Junction and move towards Anil Kumble Junction – T/R on M. G. Road – T/R on the Queens Road towards Minsk Square Jn. – T/L towards GPO from Minsk Square – T/L on Dr. Ambedkar Road till Gopala Gowda Circle – T/L Inside Cubbon Park towards State Central Library – Go straight crossing State Central Library towards Cubbon Park and Kasturba Road Junction – T/L on Kasturba Road – Go straight towards the Main Gate of Kanteerava Stadium – T/R inside the stadium and Finish.

Facilities on the Open 10K Run Route
  • Water:Bottled Kingfisher Premium Packaged drinking water available at drink stations along the course. Each drink station will be clearly marked. Each water station is stocked with providing only 1 bottle per runner; please pick up only 1 bottle per station as you might be depriving the runners running slower than you. For the benefit of your fellow runners and general hygiene, we urge you to dispose off/throw bottles towards the pavement or in dustbins provided along the route. Our volunteers will be able to clear the place easier and faster.
  • Medical Aid: Medical stations along the course manned by doctors and medical personnel of Fortis Hospital. Runners are advised to carry their own specific prescribed medicines. You must stop running the race immediately if instructed to do so by a member of the official medical staff - this is in the interest of your health and safety.
  • Toilets:Mobile toilets will be stationed next to the Fortis Medical Stations along the course.
