World over distance running events are revered for the emotional connect that they establish in the hearts and minds of the citizens. It provides the city with a platform to come together, in a celebration that cuts across social and economic barriers. It is a sporting movement that lays emphasis on the joys of communal harmony and the triumph of the human spirit.
A distance running event brings together the common man, the corporate czar, the politician, the socialite and the physically challenged onto one platform. It motivates the grandmother and grandson, across the generational divide, to set personal targets and record personal triumphs. It is an event that stirs the conscience of every citizen, encouraging them to reach out, in aid of a cause or charity.
Distance running events in India have been used to raise monies in support of varied causes and NGOs. 72 NGOs used the platform of the Sunfeast World 10K Bangalore 2010 to collectively raise 1.40 crores for their varied causes.
This year again, it's time for Bangaloreans to put their best foot forward and show the nation and the world at large, that they care!!! It's time for all to participate in the fourth edition of the TCS World 10K Bangalore and run for case they believe in.
FUND RAISING THROUGH THE EVENT
At the TCS World 10K Bangalore 2011, you can choose the NGO/cause you wish to support. You can choose from any of the NGO’s listed with Bangalore Cares, the event's official Charity Partner. In case your chosen NGO does not feature in the list given on this website, you can urge the NGO to enlist themselves.
You can raise funds for your chosen NGO with the help of a fundraising kit. These kits are available with Bangalore Cares at the address given below against a contribution of 200 each. This amount paid by you will go to NGO's post-race day in proportion to the funds they will raise. The fundraising kit can also downloaded from Bangalore Cares' website www.bangalorecares.in. These fundraising kits are designed to motivate and help you decide on the cause to support and raise funds.
