A 4 year veteran in the World 10K platform, she is the former state and national level hockey player. She hasn't let her severe arthritis to hamper her efforts in making the society inclusive for the disabled. She has also been among the top fundraisers for APD through the platform of the World 10K Bangalore.
Sha Nigar for APD
"I am running to support, rehabilitate and include people with disability into mainstream economy and society" - is her mantra since 2009. She is an engineering graduate in Electronics & Communication, from Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering at Shimoga. She joined APD as Principal in the Industrial Training Centre. Presently she works as a Senior Manager for Resource Mobiilisation.

A young accounts professional, who has worked at Northern Trust as an analyst for 4 years, and realized that one's life is measured not on how much she has earned but on what she has done with it. Therefore she decided to dedicate her life and skills to work for the less privileged, left the corporate world and joined APD - Association of People with Disability to help raise vital resources.
Devikala M L for APD
Devikala's relationship with APD began way back in 1992. As a baby affected with polio, she lost strength in both legs. For 10 years she crawled her way around and managed to attend school with the help of her sister. In 1992, she attended an APD camp where she learnt to find the Ability in her disability. APD helped her with support tools and education. Today Devikala is a proud senior physiotherapist at APD and travels the globe and the nation educating people about the help that is now available for the physically disabled and that disability affects only the body and never the mind.

Kartik Tarakad for Magic Bus
Kartik Tarakad has his own business of manufacturing and marketing LED lamps and luminaires. While living in the UK, he raised funds for a NGO that worked with a school in East London. The organization worked with disabled and at-risk children. Through medium of football and other sports, children were tutored in math, essay writing and other subjects.
When he returned to Bangalore, he wanted to be associated with a charity, which does similar work in India. He felt encouraging the children to enjoy sport and advocating about the importance of education is essential. Magic Bus is successful in its use of interactive games and team play sessions to teach children. Hence, through the TCS 10k, he decided to raise funds for Magic Bus programmes in Bangalore.

Anga Karunya Kendra - A corporate Finance person who after retirement is a senior Rotarian, who has been and is, on several Rotary and NGO committees. One of the original group of four who formed Bangalore Cares, GM is an especially enthusiastic fundraiser through the World 10K, for AKK - Anga Karunya Kendra, of which he is Chairperson. He has raised Rs 30+ lakh, including this year's amount, in the last 5 editions of the World 10K.
She is an E&C Engineer hailing from Mangalore and has 17 yrs of working experience in the Semiconductor domain, out of which 5 yrs are in the United States. She started her career as a CAE (Computer Aided Engineer) and has donned several roles such as FAE, Design Engineer, and so on. During her tenure at the last Company she was working as a Line Manager cum Staff Applications Engineer. Currently an Entrepreneur - she run a business with her husband, which is into Manufacturing and Software Services.
She wanted to do something different and follow what her heart says. She is one of the founding members of CSR committee her last Company. During that time she came across Sahasra Deepika and ever since she has been associated with them. She believes in the NGO's vision and mission. Sahasra Deepika is a way to provide a first-rate education to children in disadvantaged social classes while also providing them with food, clothing, and a nurturing, safe environment in which to learn.
